Port of Salina Cruz with mile-long jetty

This seaport, built to accommodate transcontinental freight, opened in 1907. The quays which divide the inner and outer artificial harbors are wide enough to carry six great warehouses with electric cranes on both sides, and a number of railway tracks. The port also sports one of the largest drydocks in the world.
