On Friday 29th March 2024 at 14:51 UTC, Nicolas F8DGF, a radio amateur from France, made contact with Vladimir OK7DA/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, who was operating from PP Vrani skala (OKFF-2697), on the 20m amateur radio band. Vladimir made a total of 47 contacts while at the reserve.
PP Vrani skala (OKFF-2697)[Crow Rock], is a protected area of 14.5346 hectares lying to the south-west of Prague in the west of the Czech Republic. It was designated in 1948 as a Nature Monument and is an IUCN Management Category III area.
An IUCN Management Category III area is set aside to protect a specific natural monument. Examples of natural monuments include a landform, sea mount, submarine cavern, geological feature e.g. a cave or a living feature e.g. an ancient grove. These areas are often quite small but have a high visitor value.
