On Sunday 20th August 2023, Brandon ZS6LZ, a radio amateur from Sandton, South Africa, reached the summit of Sentinel and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 19 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m and 20m amateur radio bands.
