On Friday 5th May 2023, Brandon ZS6LZ, a radio amateur from South Africa reached the summit of Silasberg and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 10 contacts in total working on the 40m amateur radio band.
