On Friday 12th August 2022, Antonio CT1MH/P a radio amateur from Portugal reached the summit of Serra Amarela and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 23 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit Serra Amarela is 1362 metres (4469 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
