On Friday 30th September 2022, Martin AJ6CL, a radio amateur from Thousand Oaks, CA reached the summit of Sonora Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 16 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Sonora Peak is 3493 metres (11460 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
