Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department South District Wastewater Treatment Plant. Note the concrete pads on the perimeter of the plant - these are injection wells. These wells are bored in at depths of 2400 to 2700 feet, and are used to dispose of wastewater effluent. Leakage in the injection wells is done by testing adjacent monitoring wells for ammonia.
