The Spandaryan Reservoir on the Vorotan River is located southeast of Gorayk. The reservior's Hydro Power Plant is located in the Village of Spandaryan to the south-east which one of Armenia's largest hydro power plants.
The reservoir is 7km (4.3 miles) long by approximately 3 km (1 mile) wide. It has a surface area of 10.8 square kilometres (4.2 square miles) and contains 257 million cubic metres of water.
