On Monday 5th September 2022, Stefan HB9HCS/P, a couple of radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Steghorn and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 37 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Steghorn is 3146 metres (10322 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
