On Monday 1st April 2024 at 06:31 UTC, Eddy ON3EA, a radio amateur from Belgium, made contact with Boris 9A2GA/P, a radio amateur from Slovenia, who was operating from Stupnički lug (9AFF-0081), on the 40m amateur radio band. Boris made a total of 127 contacts while at the reserve.

Stupnički lug (9AFF-0081), is a protected area of 443.3 hectares located approximately 15km to the south-west of Zagreb in Croatia. In 1964 19.03 hectares of the forest was designated as a Special Reserve for forest vegetation.

In 2014 a larger area of Stupnički lug was designated as a Site of Community Importance under the EU's Habitats Directive and is part of the Natura 2000 network.

Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
