Here on Street View in January 2020 can be seen a sunset over Aden, Yemen. The sunlight is seen coming though the dark clouds above the mountains behind the skyscrapers in the port.
Britain administered Aden between 1839 and 1967 because of it strategic position in respect of trade with British India, the Far East , Australia and New Zealand, particularly following the construction of the Suez Canal.
The defensive properties of Aden can clearly be seen from this view taken from the fortress of Castle Seera.
