All Souls Church on Astley Road off Blackburn Road in Bolton is a fine example of a large Victorian church. The church having closed as a place of worship it is now with the help of a Heritage Fund grant a multi-purpose community centre.
The church was constructed thanks to the Greenhalgh family, who were local cotton mill owners and were major benefactors of the church.
Construction of the church began in 1878 to the design of Edward Paley and Hubert Austin in the Victorian Gothic revival style which was very popular at the time.
