This was a wedding present to Crown Prince Frederik, later King Frederik IX, and Crown Princess Ingrid as present of the people of Denmark.

Crown Prince Frederik used every year for hunting and resting allmost up to his death in 1972, except during the German occupation 1940-45.

After 1972 it has been used ocationally by Prince Joachim and Crown Prince Frederik. Mostly for parties.

The hut is owned by a foundation with the purpose to keep the hut in good condition for the Royal Family. 2006 Queen Margrethe paid the foundation 2,6 million DKK (461,429.04 USD).
