On Wednesday 6th March 2024, Geoff ZL3GA, a radio amateurs from New Zealnd reached the summit of Umukarikari in the Kaimanawa Forest Park (ZLFF-0050) and made 43 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands for the World Wide Flora & Fauna in Amateur Radio

The Kaimanawa Forest Park on the North Island of New Zealand is a large area of ancient native forests, shrublands and tussock grasslands. The parks is a popular area for hunting, fishing and overnight trekking.
