On Sunday 28th August 2022, Mihaela YO5MCM/P and Ioan YO6IA/P two radio amateurs from Romania reached the summit of Vânătoarea lui Buteanu and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 30 contacts in total working on the 40, 20 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Vânătoarea lui Buteanu is 2507 metres (8225 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
