On Saturday 15th October 2022, Ioan YO5IA/P and Mihaela YO5MCM/P, a couple of radio amateurs from the Romania reached the summit of Vârful lui Pătruand activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 50 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20, and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Vârful lui Pătruis 2130 metres (6988 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
