On Tuesday 27th June 2023, Juerg HB9BIN/P, Jean-Pierre HB9HBV/P and Anita HB9HBU/P, three radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Wildi Frau and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 77 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Wildi Frau is 3274 metres (10741 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
