Ymir (Danish: Ymer) was the main Jotunn from the Nordic Mythology. He was killed by the upper Nordic God Odin. His body was used to create the World:
His blood became the oceans.
His bones became mountains.
His teeth became sand and stones.
His hair became the forests.
His brain became the clouds.
His scull became the Heaven.
Ymir is drinking from the primeval cow Auðhumla, the cow agin licks a salty stone a the Jotunn Buri is born.
The well was created in 1912 by the danish sculptor Kaj Nielsen.
