On Friday 28th October 2022, JL1NIE/P, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Yokooyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 13 contacts in total working on the 40, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
