On Saturday 20th August 2022, Katsu JR8MHA/7 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Zaouzan (Kumanodake) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 13 contacts in total working on the 160, 80, 40 and 15 metre HF radio bands.
The summit of Zaouzan (Kumanodake) is 1841 metres (6040 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
