If you look around, it becomes apparent that this view is not the marathon in progress. The people visible are probably officials or fans heading for the grandstands. Maybe what you saw was the marathon runners.

Three helos have been added to the display - Skycrane, Huey, & AH-6/OH-6.

I found this site (http://www.daniel-libeskind.com/projects/pro.html?ID=48) which indicates a major renovation is going on. I just assumed they moved all the hardware elsewhere, and that's why I used GM instead of BEV. There are a few planes and a helo at the NE corner in the BEV vew.

History Channel program about bunkers shows this fort. Interesting stuff. The 'scars' on the fort's southeast outer wall are from cannon ball hits.
