1966 – The official inauguration of the 6.7 km trial track for Aérotrain 01 between Gometz-le-Châtel and Limours.

1967 – The original planned launch date for Apollo 1. The date was cancelled when a fire in the capsule during a test killed the three astronauts, Virgil Ivan Grissom, Edward Higgins “Ed” White, II, and Roger Bruce Chaffee.
