Here they build "jack-up" drilling rigs for work in the gulf. They are assembled here, then they "walk" them to the water, then they are towed down river and into the gulf where they go to work. They are called "jack-up" rig cause when they get into position the three legs are lowered to the sea floor and the platform is raised out of the water to a safe working height. When the rig needs to move the just raise the legs and tow it to a new location.
