About 100 feet up on base from the gate, you will see a broad light colored strip accross the road; this is a large steel plate that lifts up in a few seconds with hydrolics.

Also, that drive-through next to the Visitor's Center is where they take random cars in and take 'em apart. No kidding. You give your permission by default when you drive on a Federal Facility.

About 200 feet up the road towards the main base, note the wide white-ish stripe across both lanes. The thinner stripe near-by is a mechanical spike strip that can be activated.
