The Capital Theater opened in 1926, and closed in the early-1990’s and was later demolished. The Capitol’s stage house was left standing when the theater was demolished, and has been integrated into the Elsinore Theater on the other side of the block. You can still see the outline of the bricked up proscenium opening. Above, white plaster marks the rear wall of the organ chamber, which was an over-proscenium installation.
