Blount Island Command focuses on the maintenance and support of all Maritime Pre-positioning Ships.
The Algols are fast container ships - the fastest freighters ever - extensively converted to transport Army equipment to Europe or other forward areas. Together, these ships can transport an entire armored division. They are maintained in Reduced Operating Status and would form the "first wave" of any major force deployment.
