Pictures of the former USS Boulder are great, although a little saddening. I reported aboard her 8/11/74. I spentalmost 4 years aboard and traveled a substantial piece of the globe. I was a quarter master and the Sea and Anchor detail helmsman. Just sad to see her in a nursing home. I reported aboard at 17 yrs old. I just celebrated my 50th.

Great story. It's always good to have the opportunity to match the image to actual events and lives. Thanks.

Yes sad to see her like this. Yet still it is good to see Boulder.
From 72-75 she was home to me. M-Div #3aux engine room. It was a good time. |

I was on the Boulder from Oct 72- Apr 73. I was a corpsman with Kilo 3/2 out of LeJeune. I had to go from the Navy to the Marines to get on board a ship. It was a terrific time and I'll never forget her.
