Engine Test Facility

This is an aircraft engine test facility. Positioned way out away from anything but a land fill when they built it. Now there is a very nice neighborhood just to the west.

I think it belongs to Rolls-Royce who has a engine services facility at the airport (first set of buildings to the east along the road that the test facility is on.)

Site includes large rigs on which to mount engines. There is also a modest size LNG tank at the north end but it doesn't show up well in the overhead shots.

Too bad for the people that live near this thing. The noise produced when they do engine run-ups is deafening, and can be heard for miles... I live 5 miles frome where they do this in "hush houses" and it's still loud.
