On Saturday 1st October 2022, JK1VUZ and JM3AVI, two radio amateurs from Japan reached the summit of Akagisan (Kurobisan) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 18 contacts in total working on the 13cm, 23cm, 70 cm and 2 metre amateur radio bands.
The summit of Akagisan (Kurobisan) is 1828 metres (5997 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Akagisan (Kurobisan) is in Gunma Prefecture on Honshu Island.
