On Thursday 7th July 2022 Eric VA2EO/W2 a radio amateur from Drummondville, QC reached the summit of Algonquin Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 18 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Algonquin Peak is 1559 metres (5115 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
