Appalachian Trail Bridge

The James River Foot Bridge is the longest pedestrian-only bridge on the Appalachian Trail, according to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. The new bridge dropped about 2 miles off the crossing. Before hikers had to cross the James using the US 501 auto bridge.
