On Sunday 18th June 2023, Tak 7M4QZE/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Asahidake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 25 contacts in total working on the 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m and 12m amateur radio bands.
