On Sunday 15th January 2023, Kobayashi 7M4QZE/0, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Yagioyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 24 contacts in total working on the 40, 20, 15 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Yagioyama is 1500 metres (4921 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Yagioyama is in the Niigata Prefecture on Honshu Island.
