On Saturday 17th June 2023, Kyou JJ1HWM/0, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Tanigawadake (Shigekuradake) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 16 contacts in total working on the 70cm amateur radio band.
The summit of Tanigawadake (Shigekuradake) is 1978 metres (6490 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Tanigawadake (Shigekuradake) is in Niigata Prefecture on Honshu Island.
