On Thursday 16th February 2023, Kyou JJ1HWM/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Hotakayama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 13 contacts in total working on the 23cm and 70cm amateur radio bands.
