On Friday 9th September 2022, Kevin KI7YDK and Bill KJ7ZDH, two radio amateurs from Arizona reached the summit of Aspen Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 8 contacts in total working on the 20 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Aspen Peak is 2489 metres (8166 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
