On Friday 12th August 2022, Juerg HB9BIN/P a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Balfrin and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 21 contacts in total working on 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit Balfrin is 3796 metres (12454 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
