I always wondered why the lane stripes zig-zag on that street. Does that mean something special to British drivers?

I'm just guessing but if you slide up NW along the same street you'll see those wiggles always extend outwards from a crosswalk. Maybe these are to ward drivrs who can't see ahead but can see the center line that there is a crosswalk ahead.
