On Saturday 10th June 2023, Leo NE2P, a radio amateur from Johnson City, TN reached the summit of Big Bald and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 5 contacts in total working on the 2m amateur radio band.
The summit of Big Bald is 1681 metres (5515 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
