On Friday 1st December 2023, Gavin GM0GAV/P, a radio amateur from Scotland, reached the summit of Carn Mor Dearg and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 58 contacts in total working on the 40m and 30m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Carn Mor Dearg, a Munro, is 1220 metres (4003 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
