On Wednesday 29th June 2022 Jiho DS5SQS a radio amateur from South Korea reached the summit of Chilbulbong and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 17 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and 40 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Chilbulbong is 1430 metres (4692 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
