On Sunday 10th September 2023, Manuel IN3EHQ/P, a radio amateur from Italy, reached the summit of Cima Vertana / Vertainspitze and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 21 contacts in total working on the 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Cima Vertana / Vertainspitze is 3545 metres (11631 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
