Elephants at the Rhur Zoo (ZOOM Erlebniswelt)

By 2008, the traditional Ruhr Zoo Gelsenkirchen will have completely changed into the ZOOM Erlebniswelt. A journey of adventure into the rough north of America is already possible: on a total area of more than six hectares, the visitors see the total variety of the landscapes and species from Alaska. Also, a trace of the secret of the "dark continent" can already be felt in the world of experience: lions dose in the midday sun and hyenas hunt through the high grass of the savannah.
