The Emirates Air Line, also known as the Thames Cable Car, spans the River Thames between the Greenwich peninsula and the Royal Docks. "Flights" started on the 28th June 2012 just in time for the London Olympics. The crossing time takes 5 minutes in peak times, aimed at getting commuter traffic, and 10 minutes at other times to cater for the tourist.

This map shows the terminal in the Royal Docks on the north side of the River Thames.
