The former Free Public Library on Brook Street in Knutsford which has latterly been used as a Childrens day nursery.

The building opened in 1904 and today is a Grade II Listed Building (National Heritage List for England Entry Number 1388310). The building is built in red brick with buff terracotta dressings and detailing to a design by the Manchester based architect Alfred Darbyshire. The construction of the building was funded by The Carnegie Trust.

There is a stone lintel on the front elevation of the building with the inscription ‘PUBLIC FREE LIBRARY’.
