On Friday 2nd December 2022, Gen JS1IFK/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Fujioyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 16 contacts in total working on the 40, 30, 20 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Fujioyama is 1606 metres (5269 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Fujioyama is in the Yamanashi Prefecture on Honshu Island.
