On Monday 31st July 2023, Arthur HB9CEV/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland, reached the summit of Furggeltihorn and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 46 contacts in total working on the 2m, 60m, 40m, 30m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Furggeltihorn is 3043 metres (9980 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
