On Saturday 19th August 2023, Brandon ZS6LZ, a radio amateur from Sandton, South Africa, reached the summit of Generaalskop and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 17 contacts in total working on the 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Generaalskop is 2732 metres (8963 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
