On Wednesday 2nd August 2023, Heinrich IW3AGO/P, a radio amateur from Italy, reached the summit of Gruberspitze and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 24 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Gruberspitze is 2934 metres (9626 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
