On Monday 7th August 2023, Ajib YG3DEB, a radio amateur from East Java, Indonesia reached the summit of Gunung Kawi and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 1 contact in total working on the 15m amateur radio band.
The summit of Gunung Kawi is 2868 metres (9409 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
